I usually write a tune to express myself

To chronicle life’s funny twists and turns

Nowadays with all the hate and carnage going on

I turn to song as my escape

Reality’s getting much too unreal

I didn’t think I’d live to see the day

That death and blood would greet me

Every time I wake

That’s more than enough to numb mE

Now I still dream of a world that believes in love

And giving and trusting humanity

And I believe we can all make a difference

And we can still live out our little dreams

I’m picturing a planet full of mountains of green

Where you and I can live among the free

There’ll be no more boundaries of race or creed

And all our pain has disappeared

If we reach out and call each other brother

There’ll be no anger or jealousy or hate

No more death or blood everytime we wake

We can try to make it work from day to daY
